When we started BiggerThanMe, we didn't know what was going to happen. Honestly, the resistance started late - we were comfortable and not used to fighting for something we all took for granted.
But then it happened big. The June "No Kings" protests brought 5+ million people to the streets across 1,400+ locations. The organizational networks we'd been tracking - Indivisible, 50501, regional groups from coast to coast - suddenly weren't just names on a page but the backbone of the largest coordinated resistance in modern history.
Suddenly there were grassroots events and real impact. We went from 'How did this happen?' to 'wait, what's happening?' to 'oh wow, there really IS something happening.' This whole grassroots process is a miracle every time it works.
What we learned from witnessing this moment: it's not enough to analyze what's broken. People need to know their participation will make a difference - research shows that's the #1 factor in getting people engaged. And when 45% of Americans report no civic participation in the past year, there's tremendous potential energy waiting to be sparked.
That shift - from confusion to action, from feeling overwhelmed to supporting a movement - is why we're inspired to change our name to reflect what we are witnessing in this moment. DemocracySpark*.
Our tagline becomes "Truth finds a way" - because we've seen it happen. Constitutional principles under attack don't just disappear; they find expression through millions of people who decide to act. Our role isn't to create that spark - it's to provide the constitutional analysis and practical tools that help individual sparks become collective action.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and standing up for democracy.
